Q: What is Zecta?
A: There are a few answers to that question.
1) Zecta is the name of a 4 issue comic book mini series scheduled to be released mid to late 2008. It will be a standard 22 page full color comic.
2) Zecta is the name of the planet where countries are entangled in a constant struggle between the forces of good and evil. The inhabitants of Zecta worship insects and model their societies after them. The insect influence is clearly visible in their political structure as well as their clothing and vehicles.
Q: Who is publishing Zecta?
A: Currently the plan is to self-publish Zecta. We are open to working with an established publisher to help Zecta materialize in comic book stores around the world.
Q: What is the actual story about?
A: The 4 issue mini series follows a Special Forces team that is sent to investigate the attempted assassination of their queen and the chaos that results from their investigation. The story is a sci-fi military theme something along the lines of Ghost In The Shell/Appleseed. Once the series ends, the main characters will be established and allow for an ongoing series if it is successful.
Q: Where did the idea for Zecta come from?
A: Zecta was originally a small video game project called Mech Bugs that was intended to be an Advance Wars type of game incorporating unique and interesting vehicles (the mech bugs).
Q: Wow, doesn’t the spider look a lot like the mech(s) from Ghost In The Shell/Appleseed?
A: While I am a huge fan of Masamune Shirow, the spider zecta is only one vehicle in the Zecta universe. There are many other Zectas based on various insects as will be visible in the series.
